Community Guidelines

CU is built for friends: making plans, showing up, sharing memories, and coordinating real-world moments together. These Community Guidelines explain what is and is not allowed when using CU.

These Guidelines apply to accounts, profiles, plans, events, groups, invitations, chats, photos, videos, stories, card images, map activity, location sharing, Spin the Wheel prompts and results, reports, support requests, and any other content or conduct connected to CU.

1. Age Requirement

CU is for users who are at least 16 years old. Do not create an account or use CU if you are under 16. Do not help someone under 16 create or use an account.

2. The Standard: Friends, Consent, and Respect

CU is designed for real friends and real-world plans. The app works only when people feel safe, respected, and in control of what they share.

  • Treat people with respect, including people you disagree with or do not know well.

  • Do not pressure, threaten, shame, coerce, blackmail, manipulate, or harass anyone.

  • Only invite people you know or have a reasonable basis to contact.

  • Respect declined invitations, removed attendees, blocked users, private plans, and other boundaries.

  • Do not use CU to contact, monitor, track, or repeatedly message someone who does not want to interact with you.

3. Profiles, Identity, Friends, and Groups

  • Use accurate account information. Do not impersonate another person, business, venue, sponsor, public figure, or CU representative.

  • Do not create fake accounts, abusive accounts, spam accounts, or accounts intended to evade enforcement.

  • Do not misuse group features to exclude, target, shame, harass, surveil, or pressure people.

  • Do not scrape, sell, publish, or misuse friend lists, group membership, contact information, event attendees, or other social information from CU.

4. Location Sharing and Map Safety

CU includes optional event location sharing so friends can coordinate arrival and see whether participants are on the way or late. If enabled, event location sharing may begin one hour before the event start time and end one hour after the event start time.

  • Do not use location information to stalk, follow, intimidate, surveil, threaten, shame, or harass anyone.

  • Do not screenshot, record, repost, publish, or share another person’s location outside CU without their clear permission.

  • Do not use CU to coordinate unsafe, illegal, trespassing, deceptive, violent, or harmful activity.

  • Location accuracy is not guaranteed. Do not rely on CU for emergency response, personal safety guarantees, navigation in dangerous conditions, or time-sensitive legal, medical, or security decisions.

  • If you feel unsafe, contact local emergency services or trusted people directly. CU is not an emergency service.

5. Plans, Events, and Real-World Conduct

CU helps users coordinate real-world activities, but users are responsible for their own conduct before, during, and after events.

  • Create plans and events honestly. Do not misrepresent the location, nature, host, guest list, timing, cost, sponsor, venue, or purpose of an event.

  • Do not use CU to organize violence, threats, harassment, vandalism, theft, trespassing, scams, illegal drug activity, underage drinking, unsafe dares, or other unlawful or dangerous conduct.

  • Respect venues, private property, staff, neighbours, event hosts, and local laws.

  • If alcohol, cannabis, transportation, boating, rides, or other higher-risk activities are involved, follow all applicable laws and safety requirements.

  • Do not create events that encourage participants to drive impaired, consume substances irresponsibly, or take unsafe risks.

6. Photos, Videos, Stories, and Event Memories

CU is designed to help friends preserve event memories. That only works when people feel respected and safe.

  • Only upload or share photos, videos, screenshots, captions, or other media that you own or have the right to share.

  • Respect privacy and consent. Do not post intimate, humiliating, exploitative, secretly recorded, or highly sensitive content without clear permission.

  • Do not post another person’s private information, private address, precise location outside the intended CU feature, government ID, financial information, medical information, or other sensitive information.

  • Do not post content showing minors in sexual, exploitative, abusive, humiliating, or unsafe contexts.

  • Do not use CU to bully, shame, mock, blackmail, extort, threaten, dox, embarrass, or retaliate against another person.

  • If someone reasonably asks you to remove content involving them, respect that request whenever possible.

7. Chats, Comments, Captions, and Messages

Keep conversations respectful and appropriate for the people included in the event, plan, group, or chat.

  • No harassment, threats, intimidation, hate speech, abusive language, targeted insults, unwanted sexual comments, or repeated unwanted messages.

  • No content that promotes or glorifies self-harm, violence, exploitation, terrorism, criminal conduct, or dangerous acts.

  • No scams, phishing, impersonation, deceptive links, malware, fake giveaways, or attempts to collect private information.

  • No spam, mass messaging, bot activity, scraping, or attempts to manipulate CU features.

  • No pornographic content, sexual solicitation, grooming, exploitation, or sexual content involving minors.

8. Spin the Wheel and Interactive Features

Spin the Wheel and similar interactive features are intended only for fun, entertainment, social engagement, and user experience within CU. They are not gambling, betting, wagering, contests, sweepstakes, payment systems, legal decision tools, safety tools, or a way to create binding obligations.

  • Do not use Spin the Wheel to pressure someone to pay money, buy alcohol, consume alcohol or drugs, perform an unsafe act, share private information, engage in sexual conduct, break the law, accept a punishment, take a dangerous dare, or do anything against their will.

  • Do not create prompts that are unlawful, coercive, exploitative, discriminatory, harassing, humiliating, dangerous, sexual toward minors, deceptive, or otherwise harmful.

  • Do not use Spin the Wheel for gambling, wagering, raffles, prize contests, debts, punishments, financial decisions, legal decisions, medical decisions, safety decisions, or anything that could create legal, financial, physical, emotional, reputational, or privacy harm.

  • Any result is for entertainment only. Participants are responsible for their own choices and may decline to act on any prompt or result.

  • CU may remove prompts, results, recordings, media, or accounts connected to misuse of interactive features where technically and operationally possible.

9. Invitations, Contacts, SMS, and Non-User Invites

CU may allow users to invite friends through contacts, SMS, deep links, app-store links, or other sharing tools. Use those tools respectfully.

  • Only send invitations to people you know or have a reasonable basis to contact.

  • Do not use CU invitations for spam, harassment, marketing blasts, scams, fake events, fake links, or unwanted repeated contact.

  • Do not upload, share, sell, scrape, or misuse contact information obtained through CU.

  • Do not create misleading invitation links or trick people into joining an event, sharing location, or downloading CU.

  • Do not use invitations to evade blocks, removal from events, or another person’s boundaries.

10. Illegal, Harmful, or High-Risk Conduct

You are responsible for using CU lawfully and safely.

  • Do not use CU for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, exploitative, abusive, coercive, or unsafe purposes.

  • Do not use CU to coordinate or encourage physical harm, property damage, harassment, stalking, sexual exploitation, fraud, theft, trespassing, trafficking, weapons misuse, or other illegal activity.

  • Do not use CU to buy, sell, trade, promote, or facilitate illegal goods or services.

  • Do not interfere with CU security, attempt unauthorized access, scrape data, reverse engineer the Service, abuse APIs, bypass restrictions, or disrupt the app.

  • Do not use CU in a way that violates another person’s rights, including privacy, publicity, intellectual property, contractual, or safety rights.

11. Brands, Venues, Sponsors, and Commercial Activity

CU may support brand, venue, sponsor, or business-related features in the future. Until and unless CU provides official tools for commercial participation, users may not misuse personal features for deceptive or spammy promotion.

  • Do not falsely claim to represent a venue, business, sponsor, artist, influencer, public figure, or CU.

  • Do not create fake sponsored events, misleading promotions, fake giveaways, deceptive business listings, or unauthorized commercial campaigns.

  • Do not use CU to send mass commercial messages or unsolicited advertising.

  • Follow any additional sponsor, venue, or business profile rules that CU may publish.

12. Reporting, Blocking, and Moderation

CU does not pre-screen all user content before it is posted. Users are responsible for what they upload, create, send, and share. CU may review reports, user content, account activity, technical signals, and other information to enforce these Guidelines and protect users and the Service.

If in-app reporting or blocking tools are available, use them to report suspected violations or block unwanted contact. You may also contact support@cuitup.com with safety, policy, abuse, privacy, or content concerns.

  • We may remove content, limit visibility, disable features, suspend accounts, ban users, preserve evidence, or report conduct to authorities where appropriate.

  • We may act without notice when necessary to protect users, CU, YAT Group Inc., or the public.

  • Repeated, severe, intentional, illegal, exploitative, or dangerous violations may result in permanent removal from CU.

  • False, malicious, or abusive reports may also violate these Guidelines.

13. Enforcement Is Context-Based

We consider context when reviewing potential violations, including the content itself, intent, severity, risk of harm, prior behaviour, applicable laws, technical limitations, available evidence, and the expectations of the people involved. Not every unpleasant interaction violates these Guidelines, but CU may still take action where behaviour creates risk, undermines trust, or harms the community.

14. Appeals and Support

If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, contact support@cuitup.com. We may request additional information to review the issue, but we are not required to reverse any action.

15. Updates to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines as CU grows and new features are added. The updated version will apply when posted unless a later effective date is stated.
